The “MRCP Series Story” – What ist all about…
The MRCP Series was launched in 2022. This is a merger of the 1st MRC Wr. Neustadt and the RC Parndorf. The founding members at the time included Sascha Klug, Florian Luyer, Christian Kerstan and Leonardo Varga.
The merger of the two clubs also gave rise to the name MRCP -> 1. MRC and RCP.
Both clubs fought with relatively few starters in their respective club races in 2021. Many classes and few starters made the club runs at the RCP and 1.MRC relatively unspectacular.
First and foremost, the series is supposed to be fun, but if you only start with three people in a class, the fun literally falls by the wayside.
It was therefore decided to combine the club races of both clubs in order to primarily have a larger starting field and thus also hold more exciting races. The classes have been reduced to the currently most popular ones. The dates were chosen so that, if possible, they do not coincide with national and international dates EF and VF.
The regulations were based on those of the ÖFMAV because, at least in our opinion, the club runs are intended to prepare new members for the process and what happens in national and international races. This is also the reason why we pay particular attention to technical control and the entire race process. Here, with our race director Markus Winkler, we were able to win someone who makes the series something special. His experience as a race director ensures that the race runs smoothly.
At the end of 2023 it became clear that Matrix would have delivery problems with touring car tires and that a replacement would have to be found for the 2024 season. At that time, the ÖFMAV decided on T-Pro tires. Unfortunately, the tire quota was secured for the ÖFMAV, but this could no longer be guaranteed for our series. As part of the tire change, we gradually began to change the regulations for the series.
In addition to consistent technical control and an experienced race director, the prize draw also makes the series even more exciting. It is important to us to give something back to the drivers. So at the end of the year, directly after the awards ceremony, there will be a big raffle with great prizes.
At this point we would also like to thank Tonisport. He has supported and sponsored the series from the beginning. Without this support, we would not have been able to provide the series and, above all, the non-cash prizes in their current form. WE SAY THANK YOU!
We would also like to mention that the series does not aim to generate profit in any form. The team works for free out of passion and joy in their hobby.
The series has now grown well and we are pleased that we continue to welcome guests from other clubs and from abroad.
We let ourselves be surprised where the journey takes us. Until then, we wish all participants a lot of fun and exciting races for the 2025 season.
